Custom pet likenesses

Working from photographs, Suzanne can create a personalized pet sculpture just for you! Much like a sketch artist composes a caricature, these pieces are not taxidermy, but three-dimensional likenesses, allowing you to run your hand over them time and again to remind you of a beloved pet.

Here are some of our finished likenesses:

Commissioning a piece of pet art:

Suzanne prefers to meet the model dog in person and take the photographs she needs to work on the likeness as well as to get a feel for the dog’s personality. When visiting in person is not possible, a number of photographs taken from various angles to adequately demonstrate all of the dog’s markings and colouring is needed from the owner.

Pricing:

Prices for commissioned pieces range from $100 – $1000 and are based upon the size of the piece since the larger a sculpture, the more construction materials required for strength and stability.

Please note that prior to starting work on any order, we require 25% of the agreed-upon price as a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, with the balance payable upon completion of the sculpture. Any sculpture not paid for in full within 15 days of the date a piece is finished and the customer notified, may be listed for sale to the general public.

Small pieces (24″ and under) can be easily shipped; larger pieces need to be picked up locally in person or separate delivery arrangements made.

For example, for life-sized sculpture, here are some breed sizes to use for comparison:

Miniature likenesses of any breed
(finished size up to 15″) – between $100 – $150

A Min-Pin, Dachshund or Toy Poodle sized piece
(up to 20″ high) – between $150 – $250

A young Boxer, Pitt Bull or Pug sized piece (up to 30″ high)
– between $250 – $400

Larger or thicker bodied life-sized dog breeds
– from $500 – $1,000

FAQS3

Allergic to real cats or dogs?

Don’t worry, these pets are hypoallergenic and are guaranteed housebroken.

Grooming requirements?

These pets are allergic to soap and water. They hate baths, but don’t mind an occasional dusting

Veterinary care and first aid?

All sculptures are pieces or art and not toys, and while sturdy, care must still be taken to protect their inherent fragility; however, most owwies can be healed with glue. In the event of an accident requiring a little more than glue, Suzanne can repair and re-paint the boo-boo.

Feeding costs?

No food, but they need lots of love.
