My Other Dog – continued

Today, I got started on the facial features on Rico. The rest of the weekend portends to be a blur with church supper, pageant and three worship services to play for, so hopefully come Monday, I can add some dog toes. I love doing dog toes ……. little piggies ❤Rico progress2 ❤ #LuvMyOtherDog #LuvMyOtherHuman

My Other Dog

Since I miss him so much when I don’t have him with me (since he’s not actually my dog), I decided my next piece was going to be one of Rico. This is a sneak peek at how he’s coming along. 🙂

Daisy and Dub finished

The pair of Cocker Spaniels is finished! Thank you to Pat for allowing me to create these memorial pieces of her beloved fur family ♥

Pat’s husband’s little Buddy (a/k/a Dub) measures 15″ high by 11″ wide and Pat’s girl Daisy measures 21″ long by 12″ high.

Cocker Spaniel – Daisy

Daisy was a friend’s beloved Buff Cocker Spaniel who was her sidekick everywhere. Still some more work to go, but here are some progress shots:

Boxer trio at home

It was a sad, yet happy day for me today. I’d grown rather attached to Hoot and Pete these past four weeks as they were becoming themselves, but they were ready to go to their new home. Here are my last photos of The Boys as they went for a ride in the car and met their little brother in their new home, looking quite content to stand  ready to welcome their human as he comes home from work – just like they did when they were alive.

I absolutely love doing this kind of work that helps preserve people’s happy memories of their beloved pets.

Boxer pair – Hoot and Pete

It’s been a fast four weeks working on this life-sized pair, but they are now ready to go to their forever home with Rocky.

Hoot was a brindled Boxer mix and Pete was a snow white Boxer. The impression I got from the photographs provided is that Hoot was a kind of goofy, vocal and huggy kind of dog and Pete appears to have had the patience of a saint, long-suffering and mellow. All dogs have their bursts of bounciness, but Pete appears to have been a champion napper. Both of the boys clearly loved their little buddy, Rocky, from the snuggle photos I saw. I hope that their personalities come through and that they help keep alive for their owner the memories of his beloved pets.

Boxers – in progress

A pair of life-sized Boxers is in the works – blast this infuriating humidity, though! Here the boys are coming along as their ears dry in the breeze of my fan. 😀

Australian Cattle Dog

Puppies hate to be left alone … so Phoofie thought he’d keep this little howler company.

I saw the funniest looking little puppy recently whose owner says he has a bad case of separation anxiety. This little cry baby is modeled from that wildly coloured little pup, an Australian Cattle Dog. He sits 13″ high and is short-coated with blue merle colouring.

He is available through Stirling Art Studios, Broadway, Dunedin, Florida.

French Bulldog puppy

I had a lot of fun making this little fellow modeled after my neighbor’s herd of little mocha Frenchies. He measures 12″ x 12″.
